Omstars is an online yoga platform giving users access to videos and tutorials made by elite yoga masters, wellness experts, and meditation gurus. As the business grew, Omstars could see that their current technology was slowing them down. With a great business plan, and a loyal fan base, they needed a scalable platform to release new features.

Let down by previous agencies, Omstars were left with technology that didn’t meet their requirements or benefit their most crucial company objectives. They needed a partner with experience solving similar issues for scaling companies, that could provide guidance and insights to support key technology decisions.
Omstars needed to capture payments accurately and securely, build a scalable backend architecture to support growth, and increase their search engine optimization.
To complete this project, they would need to leverage a multifaceted team to support the roadmap, develop the web and mobile applications, and set up an eCommerce store with improved SEO.
Crowdlinker was able to introduce two senior developers and a product manager, allowing Omstars to supplement their capacity issues quickly.
We began by completing an audit to review the old technology so that we could re-structure and optimize the new application. Our developers used Python and Django to rewrite the entire back-end, giving Omstars marketers the flexibility to modify all assets on the page.
So that everything could be properly crawled on Google, we built a scalable front-end application using NextJS as the framework.
We built out a separate codebase for API, front-end and back-end, allowing for redundancies and safeguarding the applications architecture.
Finding a partner who could help them make key decisions and push the product roadmap forward gave Omstars the support they needed to continue scaling their technology as a small company.
The new technology enabled Omstars marketers and Yoga instructors to independently manage the CMS without additional support, allowing them to easily create new courses and upload new videos.
The improved API increased crawlability and indexability from 0 to 100 percent of their pages. This led to an increase in their customer base, taking them from 3,000 to 5,000 monthly active users, doubling their monthly recurring revenue. We also saw a significant increase in the performance of page speeds with better redundancies. Decreasing load time by 50% and moving up times into the 90th percentile.
